I found a book I worked on in 2011. What the HELL was I thinking? It's awful! How did I ever think it was good? Was I suffering a brain lesion? My God! And all these years, I thought I wasn't improving. Wow.
Nothing like a bit of a blast from the past to help you see that you really have matured, eh? Remember how we used to draw people - no neck, perfectly round heads, hair on top, and legs that went all the way up?
I look back sometimes on my old drawings and stories and think, Wow . . . I thought this was the best I could do, and I know I'm better at these things now. With some more practice I might yet end up where I want to be!
Yes, I do remember! I was so embarrassed at my old drawings that I actually threw away my scrapbooks; keeping only the picture of me standing on top of the picnic table. I don't know what possessed me to draw in it, but it was horrifying.
