Can you imagine if popular movies we love had been any different? For example, the fish in Finding Nemo look pretty close to their species in real life; but real fish don't blink. Can you imagine none of the characters blinking? Dory and Marlin would be asleep in the goggles, their eyes wide open. Nemo would be asleep in the tank, staring right at you.
And what about Shrek? Imagine if not their roles, but their voices were swapped. Shrek without an accent, Fiona with. "Ye did it! Ye rescued meh...I just bloody can't wrap me head around this!"

I'm glad the movies are the way they are, but I know that if they were different (as you said) then we'd probably love them that way and think Shrek with an accent (or Fiona sounding British or whatever that accent was) would be weird...
ReplyDeleteI hate characters, even real ones in commercials, that don't blink. They look like they have serious problems...
I always thought Fiona should have had the accent, like both of her parents; at the very least in Shrek 2, when he was reading her journal.
DeleteI had a schoolmate once who never blinked. Her eyes went completely dry. It was a pain just to look at her...She either is still that way, or puts eyedrops in all the time.
Blech!
DeleteYeah, no kidding...Another blech is what I just saw in the storage room; maybe fifty really tiny spiders all hangin' out together on the handle of the vacuum cleaner. Eesh!
DeleteEew! :s
DeleteDon't clean, just move! :p
That has been on my mind; and, I just learned last night, theirs too.
