The fog of sleep, that is. This medicine is really knocking me on my ass...and not in the way I hoped it would. Which is the way the doctor and pharmacist both said it would.
I'm exhausted. More tired than I am without the medicine. All I want is to sleep past 2:30.

Sometimes, if you just lie there and try not to think, you can fall asleep. If you force yourself to go to bed early, you can sometimes bore yourself to sleep. I used to be able to go to bed and force myself to think about nothing and I fell asleep instantly; then I'd wake up refreshed and energized eight hours later and be good to go for another sixteen hours. These days I'm lucky to make it six before I need a nap, but it is sorta winter; I don't sleep well in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI hope it gets better for you soon; I also hope you find some trick to help you get to sleep and stay that way awhile :)
Last night was great, actually; thanks to the pill. I fell asleep within thirty minutes and didn't wake up until 2-ish. Even at that, it was only because Mom came in. I'd probably still be asleep; not that I'd mind one bit.) Maybe the medication is finally going to start working its magic, and help me for more than three hours each night! That'd be great.
DeleteTrying not to think...That's a tough job. My mind is always on the go. It seems I'm more tired after a dream than I am when I sleep without having one. Like the effort to have a dream is mentally and physically draining.
I can force myself to go three days without any sleep, but then I crash and sleep restlessly for months on end before it can go back to normal. So basically I try to sleep each night, or nap if my night was spent in full consciousness. Basically I'm awake for awhile every night, if not most.
How could I have screwed that up? The last sentence is supposed to say, "awake for awhile every night, if not all."
DeleteThat's fantastic; I hope you can finally start sleeping well! :)
DeleteI was like that as a kid (Mom says I used to have terrible nightmares, too) and I get that way every winter . . . kinda. I can go months without sleep, and not feel at all tired. Our family's weird :p
I can't go months, and I always feel tired; but some days are worse than others. And sometimes I'm more tired if I go to bed, so it's really hard to get a handle on anything.
DeleteI had a nightmare at Ptarmigan 2. Apparently I screamed in my sleep at the same time Chris screamed in his; and Donna came running upstairs to see if everybody was okay. Though how she got past said door is beyond me.
Weird, I don't remember any of that...
DeleteYou were probably too deeply asleep to be woken. Or listening to music. Because music rocks.
DeleteIt sure does :)
