A Year Later; I'm Still Here

Right here, on the first @#$*ing page.
I'm terrible at doing what I love; even when I try my best. :(
Maybe I should just throw in the towel and write the plans, but leave the actual writing to somebody with an inch of skill.None of it is turning out at all how I'd hoped. There might be one or two good moments, but that's not enough.
I want to write something enjoyable, but I just can't think out- side of my own head.

  1. That's the thing with writing, though, isn't it? Everyone has their own idea of how it should be done. Trying to write your story while comparing your work-in-progress to someone's finished piece makes no sense - a finished piece might have been re-read and re-written a hundred times, going from something similar to what you have right now to something they felt was worth publishing :)

I've got most of my first chapter done. I have a few things left to add, and then I've got to read through it and make sure it flows the way I want it to. My goal isn't to write something that'll win awards, but something worth reading.

If it happens to make people feel less alone, that'd be awesome, too. :)

  2. lol, I keep re-reading my own comment...I'll be honest; what I'd love is for people to read my story and say, "Wow, that's brilliant!" and "The characters were so real!" and stuff.

But maybe that's for authors that have lots of experience. I'd better stick with just trying to write a decent story, to start with...

    1. I want that, too. I think every artist wants their creations to be appreciated; but I think the first step is taking pride in what you do.

April 28th! Sorry for the delay. I thought the second comment was mine. I'm not even sure right now if I did respond and it just got deleted. Well, I'm glad I did see it, eventually. But, April 28th? Is that right? My computer, my phone, they've both been so off it's ridiculous. I'm actually embarrassed it took me this long! :(

    2. This site does that, I usually have to copy my comments because if I don't and the site doesn't post, I have to start from the beginning. :(

    3. What a drag! You'd think sites would be more modern, trying to keep up with all the new tech.

    4. Well, to be fair, Blogger is kinda old. I'm pretty sure I joined in October 2007 or something. And I think the site had been around awhile already! :P
