A Great Day!

I had a wonderful day today (even though I haven't slept in my own bed for two nights because I'm terrified of the big, fast spider hiding under my blanket; but that's okay, because I've been sleeping better on the couch anyway). I was able to buy Toy Story 2 and 3, finally completing my collection (thank you, WalMart - what did you do, read my blog?). A creepy guy followed me around, but he took off when I stood in front of the cameras. We crossed paths a few times after that, but I always hung around other people (and maybe that's why he didn't bother me).
After that I hit McDonald's, which was too crowded, so I got my stuff at the drive-thru. Today alone I've had two chicken burgers, chocolate, corn dogs, and I even have the three most important pizza ingredients - Naan bread, HP sauce, and a whole lotsa Mozza! Yep, that's all my pizza's made of, unless we actually order out.
Now I sit here, eating Swiss Rolls (you must try them if you have a sweet tooth - they're incredibly soft; I don't have a single tooth and I just devour them), drinking milk, and wondering to myself: How different would the Shrek movies have been if...he had been Russian? If you don't know what that accent sounds like, look up the Colossus scene in the Deadpool movie. Listen to the voice of the big shiny man, and picture Shrek. I mean, isn't that better? That dude needs to voice an ogre if there's ever a fifth movie in the Shrek franchise.

  1. I've been spider-hunting too - the other morning, I glanced up at the ceiling and saw one, turned around to find a swatter, and found another spider on the wall! :s

Glad you found the Toy Story movies; I love them :D I hate getting stalked, though :s

That food sounds so good ... as for your Swiss Rolls, are they the Little Debbie brand? Those are my favourites :)

I can't imagine an ogre with a Russian accent, cool as those accents are :p

    1. Yes, they are the Little Debbie kind. I have a feeling I'll be buying them a lot more often.
EW! I hate spiders so, so much. Lorne killed one above the couch last night, just to find out it was a mosquito caught in a web. Poor thing had been there since we moved in, so I like to think he put it out of its misery.
I love the movies, too; and I am so glad that Buzz and Jessie are love interests. It seems all my other favorite characters hate each other. Well, except for Shrek and Fiona. I've always wanted Gill and Dory to become an item, but they never even got to meet...
I love Russian accents, too. I first heard it in a comedy routine posted on YouTube. After hearing the accent again, but with more words, I think I need to make a Russian character for my book. The accent is kind of dreamy.

    2. 'Yay' for the LD Swiss Rolls; 'Yuck' for the mosquito and the web!

The only thing I hate about the Buzz/Jessie romance is that eleven years passed between the second and third movies; we can assume Andy had stopped playing with the toys about halfway through that time period - so Buzz and Jessie had five years to ... what? Did they never talk in those five years when they had nothing else to do? Did they never flirt, get bored enough to suggest a relationship?

I normally hate 'established relationship' stories, but if it's going to be eleven years between movies and the characters grow up 'in real time' (Andy and his sister aged about eleven years in the same time period between movies), their lives should have progressed similarly realistically. Heck, they got rid of Bo Peep during those eleven years, and Woody presumably grieved in that time, so it makes sense that the characters would have changed, become closer, or grown apart in various other ways.

I like the German accent, but also the Scottish - and the German and Gaelic languages are so cool. :D

    3. The thing, though, with the Toy Story franchise, is that even if they do kiss, it's just his plastic bumping against her wool. It wouldn't feel very romantic; it wouldn't feel like anything. I don't really understand the significance of two toys getting involved. Even though I think they're cute together, I would think a pair of child's playthings would have other things to think about than a typical love story.
I've never heard Gaelic, and the only German people I ever got to hear were Dan's, Kathy's, and Lydia's. It doesn't sound like an accent to me - it sounds normal. I'm used to it, I guess. The Scottish accent is alright, but Shrek lost his charm after the second movie.

    4. Well, I assume the feeling would be real for them, same as they talk and move but people don't see or hear them ...

Being toys for kids, they probably do start out quite innocent, but the characters do show that they're capable of adult knowledge and feelings, like when Woody gets all giggly about Bo 'cause he loves her, and Hamm talking about what garbage bags are made of and how many license plates are in the tri-county area :p

You can YouTube accents, which can be pretty interesting; you can also listen to music from those places - there's a lot of awesome German music, so I think I'll just send you the link to my favourite Gaelic song :)

    5. True. Yeah, it's a scary world when a piggy bank has more knowledge than some people (like me).
I also like the Romanian accent. I heard a Romanian woman on the bus once and it was so cool.

    6. I'll have to look that one up; I have no idea what that sounds like :p
