I Sims 3'd most of my day away...again. Some people might say I'm wasting my limited time on Earth, but it keeps me happy. Moonstones, ghosts, apples! My Sim's eldest child mastered Alchemy in what surely felt like three minutes. She made fifteen plus potions, then grew up into an adult and moved out into a big, beautiful home with her younger (triplet) sisters. Loretta poured the Bottled Blessing Of The Fae on herself and transformed into a fairy, became queen, mastered the writing skill, and is worth over $445,000 dollars in book royalties! Her husband's a master fisher-man with the Magic Hands of a warlock, and the triplets look so much alike I can't tell one from the other two.
And I saw two zombies rise from their graves, shake the curse off and go back to living their ordinary lives. One of them was not just a zombie...he was also a vampire. He was, as Rajesh Kooth-rappali would say, a zompire. He had fangs, one eye bulging from its socket like he was Glenn Rhee, curled fingers, the moans and groans, the stagger, and when the sun came up his body started smoking. He was quite the sight. I think his name was Donovan Keaton.
Oh, and you know that toddler who vanished into thin air and went missing until he respawned as a kid? He's all grown up. Hell, he'll probably have kids next time I see him. I think there's an itty-bitty chance that Neighborhood Progress is on. Still, the fact that he vanished and seemed to skip over three life stages, strikes me as a little odd.

I hated Story Progression for a while; my town kept changing and I had no control. I think I remember my Sim making friends (I hate that) and neighbours moving in and out. I like everything to be the way I made it until I change it (the perfect game for a control freak), so I turned the option off.
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm one of the only Sims living in town, maybe I'll turn it back on and see what happens. (I put another in, but I'm planning to delete her; I might recreate her as the perfect roommate for my poor, lonely Sim.) :D I figure SP can't hurt anything now, hope it doesn't :p
I leave it on all the time; I love watching other Sims move about their lives without my interference (unless they're starving to death and won't take the initiative to eat something). I play with High Free Will, disabled only for the active Sim. But sometimes the house gets a little busy.
DeleteWow, all my Free Will has been off for ages! I forgot it was even an option :p
DeleteWe do game differently. Now that my gardens have been deleted, I'm considering making the Full Moon the only moon.
DeleteBy the way, little off-topic here, but Mom wants to know if there are any blankets you care about.
Uh, yes, most if not all of them! Especially the big blue one with the trains (I think they're trains, could be wrong) all over it. (I know it's been ripped for ages, that's never bothered me.) :)
DeleteI'm guessing she's thinking of getting rid of stuff again? -_-
Yes, she is. The big blue one with the trains has been gone for a long time. Mom thought you took it with you, but since you mentioned it I'm guessing you don't.
DeleteWe have the elephant blanket, a green blanket, and one of the brown deer blankets. Yeah, Mom was going to get rid of it today, but I wrote a note asking her to wait until you gave an answer...She wanted me to ask in the first place; I didn't want to have to come online and say Yep, everything's all gone, sorry!
... Hmm, it might be here, then (I hope it is); when we clean out the spare room this spring, I hope to find it.
DeleteI hate when things are given away, and last night I had no blanket; literally slept under a towel. The darn things don't breathe, so even though I was shivering all night, I woke up sweat-soaked. I don't even know how. Anyway, I'd appreciate having extra blankets here, so if you guys are just getting rid of them (especially the deer blanket) I'd like to take! :p
Thank you, by the way :) I don't think many people know or care how attached I get to things, and how devastated I can get when things are tossed out or given away.
Why wouldn't you have a blanket?
DeleteAnyway, I guess I'll save them for you in my room until we can send them over; I have some shelving in my closet.
You're welcome. I know how it feels. I hope you have one blanket, at least.
It's sort of a long story, but the shortest answer I have is that I've been sick and had an accident, and our other blankets are in storage so I let G. use the cleanest one we have and I just slept under the towel. (I'll use his tonight, since he's not here; it should be a much better sleep than last night's; I was a sleeping acrobat, trying to keep myself warm and getting into painful positions.)
DeleteThank you very much; I hope it's not an inconvenience ... I have no idea how much space you guys have now; should visit and take my stuff off your hands, eh? (Plus talking, Crokinole, and having my ass kicked at Checkers.) :D
I'm sorry, but I have to ask - why are your blan-kets in storage? How long have you been using a towel?
DeleteThe house itself is nice, but storage is definitely an issue. We have too many chairs, good only for when company comes - which isn't often. We could get rid of them all and eat in the living room, and it would work fine. Mom's room is flooded with boxes and those damn kayaks. It hardly looks better than it did when we got here. Lorne only recently installed a shelf in the bathroom, which greatly uncluttered the coun-ter. I actually have a table in my closet, and there are boxes and containers on top of it and underneath it. My closet has three shelves off to the side and that has no more room; I even have two dresser drawers filled with papers and bank information and other stuff that doesn't count as laundry. Looking into the kitchen from where I am, I can even see a box on the table. It doesn't feel like home yet, I know that much. I also know we have an attic, which we won't use, because this house is old and they're afraid to go up there. (And yes, they still go to yard and garage sales looking for more stuff.)
It's so weird that you would say that! I debated and debated rescuing my big, fat Checkers board. I did, of course; and I'm glad, because I can't find the old one anywhere.
At this point in time I don't know where the Crokinole board and pieces are. Considering all the fun times we've had with it, I'd bet all my hair that we still have it kicking around some-place.
Well, I sure hope so; if I remember correctly, Grandpa made that board himself; I'd really have to wonder what was wrong in Mom's head if she gave something like that away, or sold it or threw it out.
DeleteI only used the towel one night, and our blankets are in the spare room because the apartment is sort of small and anything we're not using quite often ends up in there.
Wow, you guys sound crowded! Do you each have your own bedroom? How many bathrooms? (If G. and I move, we'd love a place with two bathrooms, but I think we'd settle for even one bathroom of decent size; ours is pretty small! When you open the door, you almost hit the sink, toilet, and bathtub. :p
We do still have it! I knew we would. Jason and Bobbi might be coming in June; it would be awesome if I could play against both of you. Or anyone, really - the three of us don't play anything unless family is visiting.
DeleteYikes! Your place sounds pretty crowded, too. Well, I saved you every blanket in that pile. Three or four, I think - I don't know what happened to all the other blankets.
Would you like anything else? Pictures? I still have your toothpick house Dan made for you. Not a scratch on it.
Pictures, definitely, and the toothpick house - basically anything with any sentimental value that you guys don't want or have room for! :)
DeleteWe are talking about coming down for a visit - April and May are full of appointments, but after that we're (for now) free - would love to see you! It was September 2012 last time I saw Jason and Bobbi, and December 2013 last time I saw you guys - way too long! :(
Agreed. I don't know which toothpick house was yours, but now that we have a printer you can have any picture you want, and we can have it too. I have other things, like that gold tassel thing you saved from the trash, and that little booklet of quotes and poems. Most of your stuff I've kept is little, like bookshelf-size. I know Mom's hung onto some stuff for you, too.
DeleteAwesome! :)
DeleteMy house is the one-level; yours has two, with a ladder - I remember that because I used to be jealous of yours ^_^
Okay. Wow. I don't think anyone's ever been jealous of me before.
DeleteI have been, more than once ... but I guess most siblings are at some point :p
DeleteTrue. I'm jealous a lot.
