So Far From Good

The lawn is being cut right now. There goes the effect of my medicine. If I had known the grass would be mowed, I would have waited until it was done.
Life is pretty sh**ty right now. I started an Extra Strength allergy medication, but it's hardly working. I actually sneezed so hard blood came out, and I'm on a liquid diet because I can't breathe through my nose. A lot of people don't know this, but when you don't have teeth, chewing food takes longer. I figured I would resort to liquids until I don't need to hold my breath as I eat.
The windows were all wide open until I closed them. Between the three of us, we surely must have killed forty spiders in the past two days. About half of them were making webs. See, all this is why I hate, hate, hate summer. And it ain't even here yet.

  1. Aww, that sucks! They've started cutting the grass here, too; aside from vague itchiness, I've been okay ... for years. I think the altitude has really cut down on my problems :p

Spiders ... yeah. I walked through two webs a week or two back ... blech. I can't handle doing it intentionally, but now when it happens accidentally, I just brush them off me and keep going. Now, if there's a spider on me, it's panic attack time!

Have you guys tried a spider spray (insect repellant for the house, not for skin)? G. used some outside and it was totally spider-free out there for a week or two (and that's outside, so the stuff must be good)!

    1. It's weird, I go outside all the time and nothing's wrong; but when we open the windows, that's when it starts. I suppose it could just be the fans.
I freak out every time I see a spider. I don't yell and dance like a Sim; I just freeze in place and almost start sweating. I've got to be the biggest arachnophobe ever.
No, we haven't - yet - but I want to. I hope I remember to look for some.

    2. Sometimes I freak out, especially if the thing's coming towards me on my desk, or webbing down in front of my face ... other times I can just go get a swatter and put an end to it :p

    3. I can only find the courage to kill it if it's on the wall near me or on the floor. If it's making a web or on the ceiling, I basically go into my room, close my door and stay awake all night with the swatter. I'm kind of a baby about that, but too many times, I tried to hit a spider on the ceiling, and it almost fell onto my face.

    4. I hate the ones on the ceiling, too, especially when they're right in the corner where the wall and ceiling connect, where a swatter will never fit (strategic little freaks). I'll hit them on the ceiling if that's where they are, though; better than having them crawling all over the place and possibly having babies where I might end up with a thousand of the things to chase :s

    5. Yuck. Not me, I'd rather wait; at least twice I tried to swat a ceiling spider and it swung down dead on a web and just hung there.

    6. lol, gross - G. hit one once and knocked it out and it swung around on the web until he hit it again ... it flew right out the door :p

    7. Well, that's good! I smacked one once and instead of going splat, it swung up and almost landed on my face!

    9. I didn't. Not until Lorne saw the monster (without even moving the bedside table it hid behind) and told me how dusty its corpse was. ^^
