I downloaded the Need For Speed: Most Wanted demo. Though the graphics are terrible and the car is very stubborn, it's so great cruising the map of good old NFSW again...even if I have to do pursuits to unlock the whole thing. Still, even if I fail, each pursuit takes place in a separate location, so I can still access the whole map even if I get busted. I've only done three so far, and I won the first two. The third is more challenging, but I got to go to that college place, and the stadium...I even knocked down the giant doughnut! I never thought I'd see this map again. I really hope I can get to Fortuna sometime. Being the silly girl I was when I first started playing, I actually had this stuck in my head whenever I went there: Oh Fortuna, oh don't you cry for me - I come from Rockport Turnpike in my new Lamborghini!
What?? I told you I was silly. Anyway, that was a loooong time ago, when I first started.

Haha, that's fantastic, I'm glad you're getting to play it again :D
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the maps are the same as in NFSW ... ?
Identical, at least so far. People say the map is also bigger.
DeleteWell, that's pretty cool :)
DeleteIt is, but like I said, I can only unlock the whole map if I complete all the pursuits. The third one is impossible; each attempt only lasts two or three minutes before I fail.
DeleteThat's my luck with games, too :(
DeleteI was really excited at first, but even if I'm fairly close to where I want to go, I can't get there before I'm surrounded by cops. A piece of paradise, my ass; it's more like an unsatisfying temptation.
DeleteAww :(
DeleteCould it be a glitch? Do you know whether anyone else is having the same problem?
No, it's not a glitch. It's because I have to evade the cops, take out a certain number of cops, trap a certain number of cops, get past a certain number of road blocks, and I just can't do all that. Not only am I still relearning the map after more than a year, but the car doesn't respond well.
DeleteAww, that's terrible ... I wish it was just like the real game :(
DeleteMe too...I don't know why EA wants even more money. They've got plenty, thanks to the loyal players who got ripped off...
DeleteSome game companies just suck - my favourite online games have almost all been shut down. When one pays for a lifetime subscription, they really shouldn't shut the game down NINE MONTHS LATER, at least not without refunding your money and apologizing for being nearsighted gumwads.
DeleteDid a company do that to you??
DeleteYep! NCSoft had "City of Heroes", a truly fantastic game - never played anything like it. The graphics were incredible, the missions were fun and interesting, the scenery was beautiful, the music was amazing - it was everything a person could possibly want in a game. I think the lifetime subscription was $300 and then the game company basically said, "Oh, well, sorry, but we're taking all this away from you now - we know you paid, thanks for that, bye forever!" :c
DeleteWell, that sucks, but you only had to pay the amount once, right? They're not still getting money from you?
DeleteI am sorry NCSoft did that. It sucks when something important to you is taken away. I think I tried that game once, though. I think my computer started screaming so bad I just gave up. I'm back into my Sims 3 and Sims 2 addictions, but I'm starting to like Sims 3 more. I also have Gameroom, which is pretty tame, and MilMo - which I think has amazing music. The missions are lame - "Go here, do this, tell this person that and come back to me" - but you can get a glowing sword, a glowing crown, even glowing wings. The graphics are good, except you can see your character's silhouette behind solid objects. But the maps are just gorgeous. I know when I first started, I was only looking for a distraction while I waited for my computer to be reinstalled. But instead I got so hooked that it was a struggle to decide which game to play. (But now that I have a Philosopher's Stone and a Collection Helper, and can afford one more of each, my decision comes a lot easier.)
I really wish we could still play games in the same room - I miss playing games with you, or even just playing games in the same room, like we did with Petz 5. It was also fun when we shared a household, like we did with those two ladies with the cats Yuna and Ember and others. Was someone in that house a Jessica? I seem to remember a 'J' name ... and do you remember that PlantSim I had on your (?) computer? I swear her last name was Lampit or something, like Grandma's street :p
DeleteYes, your Sim was Jessica Tuelle, a master painter. She had one bun on each side of her head, dark skin, and dark blue or brown eyes. Mine was Melissa Evans; brunette ponytail, pale skin, green eyes. They actually got married - and the cat's name was Yena. The other cats were named Wayan and Ash. There was one other offspring, I'm sure of it.
DeleteI think you're right! Last night I also randomly remembered that my PlantSim's surname was Pittar (inspired by Grandma's street's name, but not actually so similar).
DeleteI remember that the bedrooms, a bathroom, and a womrat cage were upstairs. I remember the layout of the house pretty well. I can remember several other times we made and played together, too.
DeleteAnd the Elixir of Life! :D I'm so glad Sims 3 has an in-game feature for disabling aging; it sucked having to make a new Sim every weekend or basically spam Lifetime Happiness (or whatever they were called) points on the Elixir :p
DeleteTrue. But if you're not opposed to using just one cheat, you would type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true (in the Sims 2 - the Sims 3 doesn't need the boolprop), and in the window that would appear at the top of the screen you'd type aging off. I actually did that and then I moved her out, and she was the only one who didn't age. All of her new roommates did, but the cheat from the previous lot was still in effect. It was like having a naturally immortal Sim.

DeleteI do remember that one (used to be my favourite, I think) but the cheat won't do me much good now; I removed all but the Sims 3 from my (Sims) games on the computer, and all I had here was Pet Stories anyway (kinda fun, but the Sims 3 is so much better - and my younger self may now come through time to kick my ass for saying so). :)
DeleteWell, your older self is tougher and wiser. ;)
DeleteI wish the Sims 3 was less problematic. Less glitches. I miss being able to control their pets, making igloos, meeting aliens - which should have been a part of Supernatural, methinks.
I thought you could do all that in Sims 3 ... unless you're saying that meeting aliens was just part of some other EP rather than Supernatural?
DeleteSeasons, oddly enough. I don't know what EA was thinking. Maybe a block of space ice (a space-berg, lol) crashes into the aliens' ship and forces it to Earth?
Deletelol, I had no idea - I never do, though. I mostly just care about the "main things" in an EP, like getting rain from Seasons, pumpkins in Supernatural ... I think I only installed the other EPs because they gave me cool things to plant. :p
DeleteIf I could play Sims 3 and one new expansion (without it being hard on my computer), I think I'd snatch up Island Paradise. My computer hates playing the Sims 3, but sometimes it doesn't "complain" as bad.
DeleteAww, it sucks that it complains at all :(
DeleteIsland Paradise sounds like fun; I might have that one ... before I moved here, G. was worried I'd be bored all the time, so he bought me pretty much all the games that had come out then, and has bought more since. I stick to the ones that I like best, though; I don't want to play a game for a few months, then have it crash because it just can't handle all the detail.
And a lot of the detail is useless to me and my playstyle, such as the tourists that have invaded my town ever since I installed the Showtime pack - there are no other houses, so all these people just spawn in midair (in front of MY house) and hang out at the community lots, then vanish into thin air. I (my Sim) never talk(s) to them, and I wish they'd just go away! (I only wanted that EP on my game because I can grow banana trees.) :D
My world is cluttered with "daytime zombies" who don't like to be out and about at night. They always try to bite my Sims, but I'm always looking out for the idiots. I wish my problem was mystery visitors.
DeleteI hear ya. It sucks when games crash.
