Invisible

I'm debating whether to take a "powerful" medication that could make me sleep heavily for twenty hours, or at least that's how high the bar has been set. I'm thinking I might as well, since life is kind of boring to a laughable extent. I went downtown today, but I never made it to Wal-Mart. I started feeling like utter shit; I almost vomited on the bus and I felt like my right leg was trying to fall off. So while my mother went in for a haircut I sat in A&W and texted my friend. Or at least I thought she was my friend, but literally every time I text her, she says "Who is this?" and I just feel so...for-gettable. Literally every time.
So I recuperated, bought a giant Lindt chocolate bar because I love Lindt, but it tastes...different. Yummy, edible, but different; like my taste buds are out of whack. And my stomach keeps doing these nasty flips. Like I ate a gymnast.
Today could literally be erased from time, and I wouldn't care. Think I'll just get a puke pail, take some Midol and relax in bed.

  1. Yikes, is it that time of the month? :( I hope you feel better soon, either way :(

    1. No, it's not. Still kind of sore, and I did get winded just helping L. put away the groceries. I do not feel my age.

    2. Sorry to hear it ... I hope you didn't need the puke pail ... :(

    3. I haven't needed it for many years. I just always feel like I will. In any event, it is not recommended that epileptics and asthmatics take this medicine without consulting a doctor, so I just let it go. Anyway, the list of side effects was pretty scary.

    4. Do you mean Midol?

A LOT of medications say to consult a doctor first ... I can say that I've had to take a lot of medication in my life and most of it doesn't affect me negatively (and in fact, does what it's advertised to do) BUT, there are three very common paint, fever, cold symptom, or antibiotic meds that will put me in the hospital, so it's good to be careful.

Maybe you can check whether the hospital will allow you to try the medication while monitored, in case of side effects? That way, if nothing bad happens, you know you can take whatever it is at home safely :)

(They do similar monitoring for people who get immunizations, so I don't think they'd be against it). *Hopefully* :p

    5. Sorry, I should have clarified; I meant the powerful sleep-aid I'd never tried before. Mom didn't read the box before buying it; I had to tell her the medication was not meant for people like her or me. Ironically I don't think I approached Tylenol or Midol without any hesitation.
Turns out I sleep like a rock during the day; actually I just got up. The weirdest dream I've had so far is probably the one where Jon Lovitz showed up to your wedding and thought I was somebody else.

    6. Ah, yes, the more serious medications do tend to have scary side effects. Last year I took a medication that had such a serious list of possible effects, I was nervous about taking it ... and I should have listened to my instincts, because that darn stuff put me in the hospital.

Stuff like Tylenol and Midol isn't as serious; if it was, you'd have to have a prescription or at least ask a pharmacist for it because it'd be behind the counter. Luckily, I can take both without problems, despite having asthma. (Midol is magic.)

lol, I don't even dream about my own wedding ... and I don't know who Jon Lovitz is ... but I've had some truly weird dreams lately ... funny thing is, I can't remember them right now :p

    7. Jon Lovitz portrays the father and husband in Rat Race. He steals Hitler's car and drugs his wife and children. Not the best husband or father, but a darn good friend!
Sleep-aids normally work once or twice on me, then start to give me insane rushes of energy. I just avoid them.

    8. Ohh, that guy :p

I love that line! Not sure it applies to the guy from Rat Race (we've no evidence he's a good friend) but he might arguably be a good husband and father; two million dollars would give his wife and kids a really good life ... although I have a pessimistic feeling he wanted the money for himself more than for them :p

That's weird ... I haven't tried many ... have you tried Melatonin? I know it says it's not meant for epileptics, but since it's something the body produces naturally, it shouldn't affect you negatively at all ...

I was nervous about taking it (I never want my body to stop producing things it should be making because I'm giving it more than it needs) so as soon as I got some sleep (during a period of insomnia), I stopped taking it; all I'd needed was one good night to help restore a natural routine :)

That's really all I can suggest, since it's all I've tried ... good luck :)

    9. I know the last part didn't apply, but I just had to say the first part!
I haven't tried any medicine for quite awhile now. I've been feeling queasy and I didn't want to have a repeat of the time you had Deanna for a sleep-over.
But at this point I'm just about ready to try any-thing. For about two months now I'm averaging one hour of sleep each week.

    10. Well, basically I vomited myself awake and you and she were in the line of fire. (Sorry. I had no warning.)
