Yay!

My Fresh Prince DVDs arrived today. I watched the series premiere and then used the DVD to continue my marathon where I left off online, and so far everything looks good...Of course I'll be rewatching the whole series to make sure nothing's missing.
When I first got it I was afraid it would be set to the wrong region. One of my new movies refuses to play on anything but my brother's computer. If my remote had the Info button I could reset my player, but it doesn't have that...which it should, because it's the original remote! Guess I'll have to sell it and try again. And this time I'll ask if it's a Region 1.
      Anyway...

  1. Yay! :D

I'm going to have to get Lucifer on DVD; some jerks cancelled it on a cliffhanger season finale! :|

I have some Region 4 DVDs, only play on computers set to that region; too bad you can only switch regions a few times before the computer gets stuck! :|

    1. Tell me about it. When I read that it was irreversible I decided to leave my computer alone. I'm just going to get rid of the DVD somehow.

    2. I think I've left a computer on Region 4 and the other(s) on Region 1, so I'm always okay :p

I have to wonder whose brilliant idea it was to make DVDs region-specific, so buyers have to do extra research and possibly buy extra equipment or re-buy a disc if they make a mistake ... why, why, why?! :p

    3. Why indeed. Anyone who uses a DVD player is inconvenienced by it, and should kick that person. And while I'm on the topic of videos not playing, I spent two or three days making a video and half an hour listening to my computer scream while it saved to MP4, only to have YouTube ban it worldwide because it contained copyright content. My complaint here is, doesn't every video about a movie or TV show? If it's so illegal, why is YouTube in operation?

    4. Wow, that sucks! :(

I know some people have rights to upload, somehow, and others get around copyright by speeding up or slowing down their videos - but that makes them irritating to watch sometimes, and although it should still be illegal, the detectors can't catch it. I don't upload anything, so I don't know ...

    5. I'll admit to messing with the video speed myself, but I don't post them. It's just for fun.
