Damn It.

What a sh*tty day it's been...The sewage line backed up for one of our neighbors. Literally everything everyone has put down the toilet recently is just...all over his suite. So now none of us can flush; I guarantee you the toilet paper collecting inside the bowl is going to flood the damn thing. No showers, no hair-washing, no tooth-brushing, no dishwashing, no laundry-washing, and no relief until tomorrow.
Ugh. Thankfully we have hand wipes and sanitizer...Stupidly, those very precious things were left outside the bathroom, and of course we need to touch the knob to get out. Finally I put the wipes and sanitizer into the bathroom and cleaned the knob. I don't know who here likes spreading yucky bathroom germs, but I don't.
Good thing none of us have the flu...

  1. Oh, no, it's one of those weeks! Our toilet flooded on Tuesday! Now I'm freaked about germs, too - of course, I was already a germophobe, but now I've been keeping my feet off the floor (wearing big rubber boots all the time, even though I contained the water in the bathroom) and washing my hands about forty times an hour and showering five times a day ... yeah. Yuck. I hope nothing like this happens again this year for either of us (if it never happens again I'll be truly happy).

    1. Sorry to hear it. I actually never learned how to plumb a toilet, and I'd rather keep it that way.
I think I jinxed the whole flu thing, though, because Mom's vomited at least seven times this week... :(

    2. As much as I hope it's not contagious, I almost hope it is - just because a flu might be less serious than something that just affects her :(

    3. Since it is affecting just her, she now says it might be food poisoning.

    4. Yikes, that's scary :(

Has she considered going to the hospital?

    5. She has an appointment in about eight days, but I'm pretty sure that's at the walk-in - I highly doubt you can make an appointment at the hospital. Nick, Lorne and I all keep telling her to go sooner, but she would rather wait. She's still vomiting, but she sounds more like herself and has color in her face. Lorne says she is over the worst of it.

    7. She seems even better today. She's got more color in her face and she's laughing more.
      Hope your appointment went well.

    8. Sounds like she's had another rough day :(

It did - I was told my problem was nothing more than a sort of aftereffect of the problems I had in February, a common continuation of symptoms even though the dangerous problem is gone. So, yay - all I have to do is keep drinking yummy yogurt probiotic drinks, and I should be fine (it could still take months, apparently, but I'm not in danger) :D
